Spending every available point in Tyrael's Boons does not remove the need to make choices in Diablo 4 Season 16. Players planning around Diablo IV Items should consider which rewards support their next upgrade before committing points, because reversing those decisions costs gold. The tree is part of the War Plans system and is available for testing on the 3.3.0 Public Test Realm.

Plan around expensive point resets

Tyrael's Boons has four paths and up to 132 points, but a fully invested tree still allows only four of the six available selections across those paths. You cannot take every option simply by earning more points, so consider both the rewards you want now and the materials your next upgrade will require.

Unassigning one point costs 5 million gold. Removing 10 points costs 50 million, and clearing all 132 costs 660 million. Before paying to revise a path, compare that expense with the value of keeping your existing choices and putting future points toward another goal.

The Lord of Hatred expansion is not required to use the tree, although some individual nodes require an expansion for their rewards. On the PTR, a seasonal vendor offers a boost for testing the full tree, which gives you a way to inspect choices without first earning every point.

Choose gear rewards that match your spending

Curious Addition improves rewards from the Purveyor of Curiosities, including the chance to receive a second item. Its options let you pursue additional item types or better odds of higher-quality gear. If you regularly spend Obols looking for equipment, the path gives those purchases a more focused role in your progression.

One selection raises the chance of Ancestral items while making purchases considerably more expensive. That trade is worth considering when Ancestral equipment is your priority and you have Obols to spend. If you would rather make more purchases with the same currency, don't overlook the higher price when comparing the options.

Merchant of Mystery serves a different purpose. At Torment difficulty, it introduces a merchant who sells caches for Forgotten Souls, and points can improve the chance of Ancestral Caches appearing. Its choice is between using Runes or Gems to buy caches and improving the quantity and quality of Ancestral Caches available.

Use general rewards or fund crafting

Scent of Gold fits players who want rewards from regular play instead of concentrating their investment on a particular merchant. It increases gold and experience gains and can improve the chance of finding a Legendary item. Its options also let you favor Horadric Cube materials and Gem Fragments or increased gold and gem drops from monsters.

Trash for Treasure is more directly connected to crafting costs. It reduces transmuting costs at the Alchemist and can improve the chance of finding Forgotten Souls. Its options offer additional Obducite, Scrolls of Restoration, or Salvage, while the end of the path lets salvaging Ancestral items also grant a Scroll of Restoration.

Budget for Greater Temper before investing

Trash for Treasure also unlocks Greater Temper, a Horadric Cube recipe that upgrades a Tempered Affix to a Greater Affix. Each use requires 30 Scrolls of Restoration and 1,000 Obducite. The path's material options can help support that cost, but unlocking the recipe alone does not supply everything needed to use it.

For a character that needs an equipment upgrade, compare the recipe's material cost with the gear you intend to improve before committing resources. Seasonal Blessings remain available alongside the tree and retain the same five Blessings each season, so their rewards can inform your decisions without replacing the choices in Tyrael's Boons.

Before assigning your next points, identify the resource limiting your next upgrade and check the relevant path's requirements. If you're looking at Diablo 4 materials for sale, keep the Greater Temper recipe's specific costs in mind and reserve enough gold for any point changes you intend to make.
